Most of us have sustained an injury at some point- whether it was an acute injury like twisting an ankle on a curb, or a chronic injury such as low back pain- maybe caused by immobility or weight gain. We all understand an exercise program would benefit us, but do we: 1) try to design this on our own, 2) hire an expensive personal trainer, or 3) make group fitness work?
Putting together a proper individualized workout program takes some time and effort- every person has unique body structure, abilities, as well as a history of injury or limitation. So how can this all be addressed in a group workout scenario?!
We like to get a thorough history of the client so we can understand their current routine and where to begin. This can also include a biomechanical analysis to better understand their body- whether or not there are imbalances that need to be corrected, or if there are specific movements to avoid.

Q: What brought you to Triplex Training? A: I was looking for a new gym around me that had cross-functional exercises and would help me take the guess work out of what exercises I should do each day.
Q: What was your fitness level/lifestyle before joining Triplex Training?
A: Very overweight… I did not exercise at all for years and have a job where I sit all day. Years ago I joined the CrossFit fad and got in great shape, but then kept getting injured to the point where I couldn’t workout anymore. I spent years using injury as an excuse to not workout.
Q: What did you expect to get out of Triplex Training? A: “A place that would motivate me to go to the gym and remove excuses like “times don’t work for me” or “don’t know what to do.” I needed low impact exercises to not exacerbate my injuries.
Q: What didn’t you expect:
A: I didn’t expect to fall in love with the whole community of people and trainers there!
Q: What is your fitness level/lifestyle like after joining Triplex Training? A: I’m in the best shape of my life and keep getting better. I’m motivated to go 6 days a week and haven’t missed a day this year! I’m down 47 lbs and have never been injured doing the exercises once!
Q: What should potential clients know about Triplex Training? A: They should prepare to become addicted to exercise!
Our programs are unique in the fact that every person is not prescribed a pre-determined weight or reps. Many of our daily workouts are based off time rather than reps and weight so we are able to adapt to your abilities. During your “one minute” exercise station you do what YOU are capable of rather than a standard set prior to your workout.
Modifications are a huge component to our training programs. Each exercise has multiple levels of difficulty and based on your history we may completely opt out of an exercise for something better suited to your needs.
Cardio, strength, mobility, and balance are also addressed in every single workout. And with the goal that each workout hits strength for arms, legs, and core- you won’t miss an area of focus. But most importantly, we incorporate all three planes of movement, meaning rather than the traditional push-pull movements of traditional weight lifting, we incorporate all three planes: forward-back, side to side, and rotational, to help improve overall fitness and minimize injury.
